What: A week of inbounds and back country skiing in an area with an average yearly snowfall of 40 feet.
Where: Nelson, BC and Whitewater Ski Resort (they use that word loosely, there's no phone at the base lodge). Staying at the New Grand Hotel. It's about 3 hours drive north from Spokane, WA - the nearest major airport. It's kind of like driving through the set from Twin Peaks.
When: February 2-10, 2007 or any part thereof.
Cost: Unreal cheap. Lift tickets are about $35 CDN/day when purchased at the hotel. The hotel's about $90 CDN/nt for a double room, bar downstairs, right in the middle of town. Lots of good food, both on and off hill. Limited fag-bag and gold lamais sightings.
I go with a crew of friends & friends' friends, a pretty laid back bunch, except the 70 year old guy who iceboats on Sunapee in the winter, he skis bell to bell.
Jared or Wolfedog can vouch that the place is pretty epic, they've both been before.
So, come rage in the hills of central BC, you won't be sorry.
