A few days ago I got some advice from a couple of Brits to try Plymouth gin, they swore it made damn fine martinis. They were correct, and my bottle of Sapphire is now the backer bottle.

My current favorite brands:
Grey Goose. Boring/yuppie I know, but it's great straight up shaken.
Plymouth Gin - see above
Pusser's Navy Rum. Vey dark with good flavor. Best shaken with a splash of fresh apple cider in a martini glass.

Beer:
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Tuckerman Ravine Pale Ale
Long Trail.
