Hey Dudes,
I don't know if anyone is still passing through this site, but thought I'd take the opportunity to post a notice about the 2nd annual alumni-undergraduate networking event which will take place at the Gate next month.
As I hope you know, there's been an effort underway to
shore up the Gate along 3 dimensions: financial,
physical plant and alumni networking. Regarding that
last element, I am recruiting guys to join me and some
other alums in Hanover on the afternoon of May 19. We
are going to have our 2nd annual alumni/undergraduate
networking event at the Gate. This will be a fairly
informal session in which alums just share a little
bit about the paths they've taken since college in
hopes of helping the undergrads begin to form their
own plans and ideas about the future. Format is to
start with a BBQ lunch, then spend about 1 or 2 hours
in group conversation, followed by a little social
time afterward. We'll begin at noon and you'd be done
by 3pm if you want to be. We did the same thing last
year, and it worked out really great with about 15
alums and 30 undergrads, who actually listened and
asked questions for 2 hours! It's also Green Key
weekend, so it'd be a good opportunity to just visit
the College.
If anyone reading this is available to participate, please let me know either by posting a reply to this message, or emailing me at rich_lindahl@yahoo.com. If you are not available, but have leads on alumni brothers who might be, please pass those along as well. We are particularly interested in finding guys who have experience outside of business, finance and law, (i.e., medicine, education, public service, journalism, music & the arts, non-profit, etc.), and are especially interested in graduates from the '90s and '00s. But ANY AND ALL are welcome and needed to participate!! Please do your part to help make this another great event either by making the effort to attend or finding me 1 or 2 other guys who will.
Refresh, enjoy and travel on, RSBS, and all that stuff,
R

I'm in - small company & engineering/eng. management.
This should be a great event, last year was excellent (was it really a year ago already, damn!). Last year was really energizing both for me as an alum and for the undergraduates, who very much appreciated the time spent with them.
